Giving Integrity A Voice

Project Values

The Foundational Value: Integrity is the primary focus as defined below. It is my belief that this and only this will ensure its success and impact. It is my commitment to strive to make sure that everything the Integrious Project is and does stays within this integrity. However, I expect to achieve nowhere near perfection as I am not an expert in the field of integrity, nor a practicing authority. I am humbly and simply a student of integrity.

Pure Passion: A deeply rooted belief in the virtue of integrity and the sincere desire to make a difference in this world through the word integrious. This project was not created for financial gain or public notoriety/acclaim.

Transparent Honesty: No hidden motivations, agenda, no spin, no sales, just an honest and direct approach.

An Objective Outlook: It is critical to maintain an open mind and objective outlook. Integrity is very personal and offers a wide variance for different beliefs and values. As such, I must be constantly guarding against subjective opinions, including my own, and not let them become detrimental to the integrity of this project.

Independence: Staying independent and not letting any people, organizations, or entities influence this work in a way that may compromise these values.

Discernment: Because integrity in itself is challenging to define and uphold, this becomes very important. Both in regards to the overall focus and direction of this project, and to the day to day decisions that are more difficult or complex. It is the act of discernment, or put in a different way, the deep and rigorous moral reflection, that will keep this project on course. Sometimes a decision or a course of action may require additional perspective, time, or guidance, in order to ensure that it is both the right and integrious decision.

Patience: There is no timeline to measure success here. Whether it takes 6 months or 6 years the focus is doing it right, not doing it fast. My commitment will not waiver until the objectives have been met, and even then I expect new objectives to be created. My only variable is the amount of time, energy, and funding I am able to contribute, due to the fact that this project does not support me financially.

A Bias towards Positive Judgment: This is for two reasons: First of all, integrity is a virtue and should be meant always to describe what is right and what is just. In honoring the meaning of integrity, it is paramount that the word integrious should be associated and hold connotation as a measure of integrity in a positive and virtuous sense. This means that judgment of what or who is lacking integrity is not something this project is focused on. Secondly, it is very difficult to pass critical judgment of someone or something’s integrity without the risk of being wrong. Integrity is by nature subjective to a set of values and only the subject can completely interpret those values in a pure, but also a moral and ethical sense. Yes, there are clear signs of a lack of integrity, and we may choose to discuss these for educational purposes, but you will not see this project purposefully use the judgement of integrity in a critical or negative sense. If you do, it is mistake, and I hope someone takes an integrious stand to call it out.
